Health solutions through holistic therapies and yoga

Onsite chair massage

This treatment known as seated acupressure massage is carried out over the clothing, no oils needed, following a sequence working on the back, arms and hands, head, neck, legs and feet.

It is a prefect treatment to be done in a shorter time, yet leaving you feeling that nothing has been missed out. This particular treatment is extremely popular to have in the work place, for a wellbeing initiative pop up event or good use of your lunch break.

How does acupressure massage help?

Massage can focus on breaking down tense muscles which are causing headaches or migraines, and pains in the muscles and joints.

Also it may improve circulation and the removal of toxins, increasing the functioning of the lymphatic system, which will help to boost the immune system. It may follow that energy levels and sleep patterns are better.

Along with this anxiety and stress can be reduced, bringing a greater sense of well being, calmness and clarity of mind.

What's a typical session like?

If this is a work lead event we would arrange a pre assessment form to be completed to ensure this treatment is right for you. The massages can be carried out in shorter durations, 15/20/30/45 minute sessions. You can advise on any key areas you are having problems with, so more time can be directed to this, the treatment may involve some stretching and breathing techniques to aid the release of tension in a particular area.

What do I sit on?

I use an onsite chair. You will sit forward on the chair and be completely supported by a face cradle, chest pad, arm and shin rests. It’s very comfortable, but if this isn’t a good position for you

What do I wear?

This treatment can be carried out whilst fully clothed, you may feel more comfortable removing any belts and shoes and wearing trousers would be more practical because of the position of the legs as you are sat forward on the chair.

INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE

What is Indian Head Massage?

Indian head massage, or champissage  is a treatment that focuses on stimulating the acupressure points on the head, face, neck and shoulders. It can be done with or without oils, on bare skin or over the clothing. Pressure points can also be worked on over the arms, hands and legs and feet.

What's a typical session like?

Our first meeting we will discuss your initial reasons for coming for therapy and what you hope to achieve from our session/s. I’ll take details of your medical history and lifestyle and from there we can choose what would be most beneficial for you on that occasion. Because I offer a range of therapies there will be something that we will agree to, or maybe a combination of several therapies that would be suitable at that time.

I would allow up to 80 minutes for the first session and 60 minutes for follow ups.

How many treatments will I need?

This really would be dependant on you, what your requirements are and how you feel the treatments are benefitting you. Of course like anything, giving something a chance to work through the body and the ripple effects it can have on other areas of our wellbeing will have a more profound effect the more we do something.

Where are the treatments carried out?

I have a relaxing treatment room in my home where I carry out many of my treatments although I do offer mobile services within a reasonable distance. Please note that my treatment room is up a short flight of stairs so if you struggle with them, I can come to you.

What do I sit on?

I use an onsite chair. You will sit forward on the chair and be completely supported by a face cradle, chest pad, arm and shin rests. It’s very comfortable, but if this isn’t a good position for you we can use an upright chair, or if you are a wheelchair user treatments can be carried out from here.

What do I need to wear?

Its suggested to wear comfortable loose fitting clothing, you may wish to remove your upper body clothing making your back accessible for using oils. Belts shoes and socks being removed would make the treatment more relaxing too.
